The Festival 5K is in memory of Sr. Jackie Walsh,
RSM, a spirited, loving member of the Syosset-
Woodbury and Hicksville communities.
Sr. Jackie Walsh was tragically killed by a hit and run driver in the summer of 2012. It is in memory of Sr. Jackie’s compassionate, generous, humble, vibrant and still present spirit, that we invite you to participate in the inaugural Festival 5K.
The Sister Jackie Memorial Fund was created to provide educational scholarships to Our Lady of Mercy Academy for the parishioners of St. Edward the Confessor Church and students of St. Edward the Confessor School. These scholarships will give young girls the opportunity to attend Sr. Jackie’s outstanding high school alma mater where she later taught and ministered.
